A trip to mother's

I went to see mother today.The weather was dry with a threat of rain so I flashed the pass and bused it.
The old girl is in good fettle and she was very pleased when I gave her an electric paper shredder,she had been cutting all her mail up with scissors.She had no little jobs that wanted doing so we just sat and chatted catching up on each others news before I made the trek back home.
I have to change buses and with a wait in between the trip takes an hour which is 10 minutes more than it used to take me walking a few years ago although now it is about the same time as the buses.
All is peaceful here the cats are off on an adventure and Ellen has busy shift at work so she hasn't got home yet so I will have a wander round here and catch up on my reading

Glad you managed to get up and see your mum today - it's been hailing quite a bit here, but no snow as threatened. It's dull and grey outside but damn cold. Just lit a lovely coal fire. Got a super chicken, mushroom and sweetcorn slo-cook going for supper. Cats are lounging around sleeping. Not as adventurous as your lot.

Nice to hear how well your Mother is keeping Mickey. Yes, we all walk slower as the years pass. Here has been a dull day with a few light showers, temperature 1 C with a slight breeze.

It's lovely that your Mother is pretty good at her age. When I visit my Mum I often think how frail she now looks; she's 'only' 75
