We have had a wild and woolly few hours with winds over 70 mph at times. Everything seems to have stayed in place here but scattered reports of damage both on the island and the mainland are trickling through. The winds are down to the mid 40s now and expected to slacken more as the night goes on. Tomorrow we have more weather warnings this time for cold weather feeling like -5c or more with ice and a possibility of snow. Still that is much safer than the winds. I hope everybody got through safely
