Yellow Violet

Photographed in Aman Park in western Michigan, this is the Yellow Violet, Viola pubescens. We saw three of four species of violets blooming in the park when we hiked there.

Have a nice weekend.
HFF.
"Fleurs ma passion"
Have a nice weekend.
Love your insets as well. Such beautiful flowers. The second inset shows such elegance and the third shows a tried-and-true favorite...gotta love buttercups. And we are enjoying gorgeous orange-tinged one out here. Yellow but leaning a hair into the red so the color is just so juicy!
Thank you for all of your grand comments! I am always thinking about you on the trail of course. I got some pictures yesterday of a beautiful little flower that grows on a tall spike...the flowers are frilly and 5-petaled I believe and are white at the top of the stalk but down low they are variegated pink and white. Sensational! I am delighted that I'll have clear pictures to post! :)
I got PERFECT pictures of the skunk cabbage flowers, so happy! The flowers look like cala lily center spikes, really neat. And I didn't even need Steve to hold an umbrella! :) There is no smell right now, I believe they are only now blooming so perhaps I'm lucky! No odor. :) I am a huge fan of their huge leaves, makes me feel like I'm an ant because they look as if they should be tiny leaves, not as large as African elephant ears! :D
I love the updates on the birdies...never seen a wren at our feeders, it's too bad about no bluebirds this year. We were surprised at the low number of finches at ours but I guess the populations vary from year to year. I'm envious of your pair of new species, I've never seen a yellow-headed blackbird, nor a black-headed grosbeak, how nice they have come by!! :)
Oh, you're planning to get a boat? NICE! Steve wants a canoe in the worst way. I have been resisting, they are expensive and never get used, but he may have a point...maybe we would use it on our many upcoming trips. You think a canoe sounds like a good investment?
Heh, you have turned into a big brother to me, I just love it. I think about you all the time, bounce ideas and thoughts off you, it's great! :)
Yeah, that game Steve plays is not one I'd ever want to play but I do play computer games when I need a break from photography and such...I play World of Warcraft (fantasy online game) and though I haven't played for a while, I also like Eve Online (space game). LOL, I really don't think I'll be touching them again for a very long, long time, if ever. Better things to do now! :)
I hope you have a wonderful day...it's raining again, heh. We're driving down to Bullard's Beach for a day and then further south towards home for two days in Harbor, Oregon and then home. It's been such a great trip. We've had issues but we're also working them out. Hard to be so confined and not run into things but we are forced to work them out. Eating crow is not a yummy dish but it's enlightening and educational to see what I do in my part of the issues!
Ok off I go! :)
Superbe picture, Ron ! ******
