Snow Geese

When we visit the Skagit Valley in western Washington in the spring to see the tulip and daffodil fields, we also look for the flocks of Snow Geese that winter there. They form flocks of thousands of birds and the noise they make is deafening. We did not get to the Skagit Valley this year so these photos are from last year's visit.

Neither. They fly up when disturbed, Amelia, circle around and come back down either where they were or further away, all the time making a horrendous racket.
