I have no idea how long birds live. All I know is that when I went down to a local park two days ago, this little female White-breasted Nuthatch couldn't wait to come and say "Hi"! Maybe it was the same female that used to fly down to my hand the last few years in that exact spot. For those of you who are not familiar with this species, the female has a grey cap and the male has a black cap.
