Last of the line

There were two passenger services in each direction daily on the Jitong Railway. One was a diesel multiple unit and the other was the last regular steam-hauled long distance passenger service in the world. It was a great way to arrive at Lindong or Reshui for a few days photography and it also sported a restaurant coach for when you weren't leaning out of the window listening to the QJ up front making light work of its load. The locomotives allocated to this service were kept just a bit cleaner than their cousins and here is QJ 6911 just before shutting off as it arrives at the summit of the climb towards Chaganhada with the eastbound service.
