Uganda, Grey Crowned Crane in Murchison Falls National Park

The grey crowned crane (Balearica regulorum) is the national bird of Uganda. It is a bird about 106 cm high and 3.5 kg in weight. The plumage of the body is mostly pale gray, but there are also golden, red and brown feathers. The main distinguishing feature is the presence on the head of a large crest, consisting of solid gold feathers that look like a crown.
