Italy, Pienza South Facade with Palazzo Piccolomini, Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta and the Clock Tower

Italy, Pienza South Facade with Palazzo Piccolomini, Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta and the Clock Tower
Palazzo Piccolimini is one of the earliest examples of Renaissance architecture and was built starting in 1459 to a design by Bernardo Rossellino and commissioned by Pope Pius II
The Duomo is one of the earliest designed in the Renaissance manner. The bell tower has a Germanic flavor.
Construction started about 1459. Pope Pius II consecrated the Duomo on 29 August 1462, during his long summer visit.
