WAT PHO

Here I'm barefoot before God.
I have lived a lifetime to get here
and, nonetheless, God asks me to continue ---
asks in silence.
I walk unhurried, rush has finished and
secrets are over. Lies
evaporated.
The words failed
to hide me. Each word is
a step.
At every step my feet create roots,
the soles of my feet sink
on this sacred ground.
Where are you? I said goodbye, I left you far away,
I covered this distance looking for you ---
I found you at last.
I walk unhurrIed, I carry the weight
of childhood and architecture.
God burns before me and I know now
my name doesn't protect me.
///
WAT PHO
Eis-me descalço perante Deus.
Atravessei a vida inteira para chegar aqui
e, no entanto, Deus pede que continue ---
pede em silêncio.
Caminho sem pressa, acabou a pressa e
acabaram os segredos. As mentiras
evaporaram-se.
As palavras deixaram de conseguir
esconder-me. Cada palavra é
um passo.
Os meus pés criam raízes em cada passo,
as plantas dos meus pés enterram-se
neste chão sagrado.
Onde estás? Despedi-me, deixei-te lá longe,
fiz esta distância à tua procura ---
encontrei-te por fim.
Caminho sem pressa, carrego o peso
da infância e da arquitetura.
Deus arde à minha frente e sei agora
que o meu nome não me protege.
