in the small country of many farms
backyards
and quarrels between neighbors
that a well-handled hoe solves
and then the frequent suicide
in the well where
who throws from there
dives in the sky
reflected in the water
of the muddy bottom

quintais
e rixas entre vizinhos
que uma enxada bem manuseada resolve
e depois o suicidio frequente
no poço onde
quem de lá salta
mergulha no céu
reflectido na água
do lodoso fundo
