Le Belvédère culmine à environ 1400 m.
Il offre un point de vue imprenable sur les remparts de Cilaos et de Grand Bassin.
Cette terrasse-belvédère domine un à-pic de 600 mètres. En bas se trouve le village ("îlet") de Grand Bassin qui n'est ravitaillé que par un câble avec nacelle.

A la Réunion, très -trop...- urbanisée sur sa partie ouest, il reste en effet des villages (îlets) coupés du monde dans des cirques où aucune route carrossable ne peut passer.

Ich kenne diese Insel gut (eine meiner Töchter lebt dort!).
Das Relief ist vulkanisch und ein Vulkan ist noch sehr aktiv. Die Landschaften sind faszinierend!
