re: Flamingos of pink .. those were in a department store parking lot for a promotion. Had been trying to maneuver a shot near a Spanish style home near me .. didn't get it - the Flamingot were in Palm trees, shrubs, plantings.. all over the place. But, they reminded me of a friend who moved from up North [thinking every yard in FL had a Flamingo in it]. After unpacking, she went to a nearby garden center; bought a pink Flamingo; got home and proudly placed in in the yard for all to see.
It was still there when she left for work the next day, but -- when you came home ... EVERY house on the street had a pink Flamingo in the yard. Guess that is one way to make a Yank feel welcome [ even tho FL is only geographically southern ]..
Do so enjoy your visits, my Friend. Haven't forgotten I owe you a note - out running around town today .. will show you the new/previously loved kitchen table and chairs we found!
