WE HAD SCHEDULED THE FIRST VISIT... FORTUNATELY! WE HAD THE IMPRESSION TO BE ALWAYS PUSHED FROM BEHIND BECAUSE THERE WERE MORE VISITORS AND TIME WAS CONTROLLED. GUIDE SHOWED US THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHIC SPOTS AND EVEN HELPED WHO NEEDED TOO WITH GEAR SETTINGS... BUT WE ALWAYS HAD TO MOVE, NO TIME FOR THINKING OR GIVE WINGS TO CREATIVITY. AND NO PHOTOS ON THE WAY BACK, WE WERE PUSHED OUTSIDE... THE PLACE IS AWSOME BUT THE VISIT IS VERY DISAPPOINTING... AND TOO MUCH CROWD AT THE SAME TIME TO ENJOY. THE CANYON FED BY PEOPLE LIKE A GOOSE BEFORE XMAS...

We have been twice in Page/Lake Powell, but we didn't know that Antilope Canyon exists nearby. Perhaps it was not yet opened for public visits. I think we have been in USA at the right time, 1976, 1978 and 1988. In these years the tourism was not so extrem like now. 1976 we only met one German family. In 1978 we went on Lake Powell water skiing. It was marvellous!

It's such a famous spot, I'm not surprised there were so many people. Your photos are still gorgeous, but I understand your disappointment at not being able to actually enjoy the experience.
The disadvantage of going with a tour is that it focuses on the "tourists spots." There are many other beautiful canyons and places that are not as busy, but it takes time and effort to discover them ... and the distances in the American West are vast.

I guess so... my friend Lina and I had to weeks to visit the parks from Vegas to S. Francisco... so we went to the main spots. It is the problem when you are so far away and know you might not have the oportunity or possibility to come there again.... We had a general idea but it was in another hand very frustrating...

es ist erstaunlich, dass es Dir bei dem beschriebenen Besucheransturm gelungen ist so phantastische Fotos zu machen. Sie erwecken den Eindruck Du wärst dort allein gewesen und hättest viel Zeit gehabt.
Wahrscheinlich kannst Du die Fotos jetzt mehr genießen als die hektische Realität vor Ort.
