This mountain ridge is called The Buachaille Etive Mor and is the striking mountain you see as you drive north on the A82 as you enter Glen Coe. Beautiful in all weathers, in winter it is majestic. I've been on the summit of Stob Dearg, pictured left about 6 times, several times in conditions like this. 22nd March 2014, Scotland.

There's an old joke about tree fellas, but I won't mention it. This was a chopped pine tree, cut just at the point where six evenly spaced branches had been growing outwards. I didn't realise they were natural until I looked closely. Serious forestry clearing in readiness for the planting of Brownie Wood by local girls Brownie group at Finlaystone Country Estate, near Langbank Scotland. Gorgeous woodland walks and great play areas for children. 1st March 2014.

This was some sparks from a welding torch on a construction site in Glasgow. I loved the energy blasting from the torch but it only filled half of the frame. I've flipped it and merged the two halves together. I don't often edit my photos but I do like this finished image. 21st December 2013 at the construction site at 110 Queen Street, Glasgow Scotland.
Cathedral of St Bavo, Haarlem

One of my favourite buildings in Holland, this cathedral is huge and sits outwith the city centre across from a quiet canal. I visit every time I am in Haarlem. Hopefully once again this year. July 2006
Souper

Sometimes when I'm cooking or making something in the kitchen I'll do some before and after shots. This was the array of raw ingredients for a big pot of soup I made on Thursday. I thought the colours in the leeks were so fresh and I wanted to try combining the ingredients on photoshop. The soup was leek, carrot, parsnip and turnip with red lentils and vegetable stock. Ideal for wet winter Scottish days with buttered crusty bread. Thursday 6th March, Scotland.

After washing my car on Sunday, the clean glass formed these icy frond formations with the overnight frost. 9am, 3rd March 2014, Bridge Of Weir, Scotland.
Smoked salmon for dinner

I've only learned recently the attraction of fresh salad, but it's amazing how pretty it makes a meal.

16th February 2014 on the summit of Meall nan Tarmachan [1,044 metres] in Tayside, looking west towards 2 distant climbers on the peak of Meall Garbh [1,026 metres]. A rare dry and beautiful sunny day in one of the wettest winters I can remember. Near Killin, Scotland with Shaun + Gerena.

Forth & Clyde Canal at Bowling with no wind and three swans trying to work out why the buildings and the reflections are different. 1st December 2013, Scotland.

When not standing vigilant over the eager shoppers on Buchanan Street, Donald likes nothing more than skating down the Concert Hall railings and flipping wheelies outside Buchanan Galleries.

Look - a Chinook!

I heard this before I saw it, and knew it wasn't a normal chopper. This is taken above the canal footpath at Bowling, West Dunbartonshire, Scotland around 5pm Thursday October 17th 2013. Only seen 2 of these before in Glen Coe.
Sneezing Lions

OK, a little imagination is required, but these pansies appeared to be mid-sneeze and looked a little like lions.
Should I just get my coat ?
Yeah, probably a good idea. See ya.

A shared pudding back in the summer. I reduced these lovely berries with some sugar and enjoyed them as a fruity coulis syrup over local Scottish ice cream. 17th June 2013, Bowling.
Castell in Tarragona

September 11 has traditionally been the National Day of Catalonia (Diada Nacional de Catalunya). Each year the people of Catalonia commemorate the fall of Barcelona in 1714, with the emphasis nowadays on restoring Catalonia to a state independent of the Spanish Government. Tarragona is famous for its Human Towers or Castells comprising teams of up to 400 Castellers who assist in the formation of a single human tower, which can reach 10 persons high and declared by UNESCO to be amongst the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
