Thursday 24 April 2025 (1135) – The bright orange buses of Mulleys Motorways provide a striking contrast to the grey architecture of the Arc and Apex buildings in St. Andrew’s Street North, Bury St. Edmunds. Mulleys YR10 AZU, a Scania K270UB OmniCity which was new to Menzies Car Parking (number S13) in March 2010, arrives on town service M55 with the destination display already set for the next run on service M44. These two services serve the Mildenhall Road and Howard housing estates.

Thursday 24 April 2025 (1135) – Mulleys Motorways YR10 AZU, a Scania K270UB OmniCity which was new to Menzies Car Parking (number S13) in March 2010, seen in St. Andrew’s Street North, Bury St. Edmunds arriving on town service M55. Thursday 20 March 2025 (1453) - Mildenhall Bus Station Left: Mulleys Motorways MUI 7949, a former Dublin Bus Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL, which I believe it was their AV202 (01 D 10202) new in December 2001/January 2002. When imported to Britain it received registration number LW51 ZMV although Mulleys re-registered it to MUI 7949 in May 2016. It was working the 1420 service 355 from Bury St. Edmunds to Beck Row. Right: Stephensons of Essex 645 (YN55 NKH), an East Lancs Omnidekka bodied Scania N94D that had been new to London Sovereign (SLE39) in October 2005, working the 1400 service 16 from Newmarket to Bury St. Edmunds.

Thursday 20 March 2025 (1453) – Coach Services Limited of Thetford BJ60 BYX, a Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo B7RLE new in October 2010, seen during a driver’s break in Mildenhall Bus Station. The destination display is similar to one I first encountered in Luzern, Switzerland back in 2008 which also showed a steaming teacup but only the word ‘Pause’.

It is one of a pair of MCV eVolution bodied Volvo B7RLEs acquired from Simonds of Botesdale in early 2025 although they had been new to Webberbus, Bridgwater in December 2013. (BT63 UUP was the other vehicle acquired). Coach Services has a number of route specific branded vehicles although this bus carries a panel showing the main towns the company serves.

It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 MMC new in May 2022.

Maundy Thursday 17 April 2025 (0752) – Ambassador Travel 300 (BV22 VSG), a Caetano Levante III bodied Scania K410 new in August 2022, seen in Thetford Bus Interchange as it worked the 0630 National Express service 727 from Great Yarmouth to Heathrow Airport. The service is due to depart from here at 0800) Ambassador Travel (Anglia) Limited is based at Great Yarmouth and is associated with H. Semmence and Company Limited, Wymondham. During this call there was a change of drivers which made me think the some of the drivers on this service were Wymondham based.

Maundy Thursday 17 April 2025 (0750) – Ambassador Travel 300 (BV22 VSG), a Caetano Levante III bodied Scania K410 new in August 2022, seen in St. Nicholas Street, Thetford. It was heading to the Thetford Bus Interchange as it worked the 0630 National Express service 727 from Great Yarmouth to Heathrow Airport (due from Thetford at 0800).

Thursday 20 February 2025 (1123) - Mulleys Motorways Limited YJ23 EKN seen in Mildenhall when working service 355 from Holywell Row and Beck Row to Bury St. Edmunds. It is one of the two Optare MetroDeckers delivered to Mulleys in March 2023 which were part of an order placed by Reading Buses in June 2018 to operate the Green Line branded route 702 from London to Slough, Windsor and Legoland. Reading Buses cancelled the order in July 2020 as part of a number of financial cutbacks made following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. (Optare was renamed Switch Mobility in November 2020). (Jean Nolan, a regular Mulleys passenger between the Bus Station and Junction Road, is crossing the street. Not as nimble as she once was. Her deceased husband Hughie worked in the manufacturing section of the local pharmaceutical factory for many years. He made the tablets and liquids and I shipped them).
