Eastern Counties and Premier Travel vehicles in Mildenhall – 18 Dec 1993 (210-24)
Saturday 18 December 1993 – A fuzzy shot unfortunately showing two vehicles in St. Andrew’s Street in Mildenhall just after they had departed the lay-by at King Street. The clock on St. Mary’s Church shows 1100.

Leading is Premier Travel Services 389 (F107 NRT) working the 0835 National Express Great Yarmouth to Taunton service 347. At the time service 347 was regularly worked by the same two coaches alternating each day. The other coach was 390 (F108 NRT). They were a matching pair of Plaxton Paramount 3500 bodied Leyland Tigers that when new in August 1988 were operated by Paul Burton Coaches of Bury St. Edmunds on the U.S. Air Force contract from RAF Lakenheath and RAF Mildenhall to Heathrow and Gatwick.

Following that is one of the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company Willowbrook bodied Leyland Leopards which, when new circa 1980, operated on National Express services. In the split of ECOC it passed to Ambassador Travel for continued use on National Express services. However, it later returned to ECOC for bus service work. It was working the 0959 service 200 from Thetford to Newmarket. (It might be LL794 (OEX 794W) which was new in October 1980).
