HFF - pip

Lime kiln (or lime kiln or lime kiln) are kilns intended for the production of quicklime (calcium oxide) by the thermal decomposition of limestone by calcination. The oldest structures, particularly in the Mediterranean region of Europe and North Africa, used firewood as fuel, being progressively replaced in the more industrialized regions by coal fired ovens. These kilns were in production in southern Europe until the mid-20th century, being replaced by the industrial production of lime in rotary kilns.
