Black-eyed Susan

Black-eyed Susan
There are still quite a few flowers surviving in the Bishop's Palace Gardens in Chichester, West Sussex...........probably because the gardens are inside the city walls and very sheltered.

Berny, trester88, Frans Schols, Fred Fouarge and 11 other people have particularly liked this photo

What a beautiful picture they make Keith. A beneficial plant for treating many an illness!
All of a sudden I have a lot of colour in the garden again. I'd better make the most of it before the first frost!

Have a good new week Keith.

Thank you Rosa............I popped into the gardens to avoid trailing my wife and daughter around the shops after having lunch out. I was amazed at how many flowers were still in bloom.

Unfortunately it started to rain heavily, so we we left early. Glad you like these little beauties!

Have a lovely week.

That's the way to brighten up a gloomy day, Keith, I like the vivid colours of an image full of Susan's. Wonderful capture!

best wishes. Herb

Thank you Herb..............according to some people, the name black-eyed Susan originated from an old english poem written by John Gay entitled ‘Sweet William’s Farewell To Black-Eyed Susan’. The poem was about these flowers and the sweet William plant.

Bright and beautiful. With the shallow DoF the flowers in the background look as if there was no end to them:-)

Glad you like these flowers Wilhelm. Glad to hear you still have some wildflowers flourishing and I hope you get many more next year.
