West Benton Church

I had a couple specific photo ideas when I set out last July 10. Neither really worked out.
My first target was downtown Potterville. This failed because Potterville's Main Street had been torn up for a sewer project. Shooting any downtown picture appeared to be literally impossible due to barriers, strategically obstructive equipment, and tall piles of dirt.
==========
My second target was this church, a building I've admired since moving to the Lansing area in 1977. The problem here turned out to be those cables--I could get interesting pix of the church, but the photographs I wanted to take were all obstructed in one way or another.
Furthermore, there were kids playing in the church yard, which restricted my ability to just wander around trying to find the right angle. So I took a few pix and wandered off.
Unlike most of my 366 Snaps candidates, this one was mainly processed in Photoshop Elements (rather than Bibble Pro). Among other tricks, I used the "find edges" filter to sharpen things up.
==========
Early in the day's trip I'd been distracted by the sky, and stopped a couple places to capture that. Those pics turned out well, but didn't really work as black-and-whites.
Finally, heading home, I found my way blocked by a family of turkeys, crossing the road just north of the Thornapple a few miles south of my house. Grabbed the camera, snapped a few quick shots with all the settings wrong, and posted one of those to 366 Snaps.
==========
This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps.
