A bit more messing about with the previous image!

This started as a series of ovals - different colours, different sizes, different orientations - laid over each other. The flattened image was then attacked with the 'liquify' tool - like a finger pushing wet paint in different directions. Altogether a different technique! This is a development of the previous image. Changed from landscape to portrait orientation and with a changed colour palette and more defined edges.

The standards are the regimental 'colours' of regiments from Kent and neighbouring areas. They represent the spirits of the regiments and are highly valued as historical memorials to the soldiers. They are laid up here when they are replaced and are not cleaned or mended, as they carry with them soil, gun smoke and in some cases blood stains from the battles in which they were carried.

Although the Ellis sign has been repainted fairly recently, neither sign relates to the current commercial uses of these two buildings. So both can be regarded as ghost signs.
