"Montagne de Bueren is a 374-step staircase in Liège, Belgium. The staircase is named after Vincent de Bueren, who defended Liège against an attack by the Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold in the 15th century. It was built in 1881 to honour the 600 soldiers who died in the battle." Wandering about town with François & Eugénie

Fairy floss is called "Barbe à papa" (pope's beard) in French. This stand also sold the Liège speciality of Lacquemant waffles, a "thin wafer, made from wheat, cut in two horizontally, filled and coated with sugar candy syrup flavoured with orange blossom." It was messy but nice. At the Marché de la Batte.

The staircase to the basement and the top floors in this tiny building is an iron spiral one that took up hard any room in the corner. At "Une Gaufrette Saperlipopette" on Rue des Mineurs.
